The classic burger (Bix Burger with Pommes Frites – $18) is available for lunch and for dinner they usually switch it up. On this night the burger was: Black Truffle Cheese Burger served open face on Rye with Truffle Fries – $28. You can order the classic for dinner as well. Which is what we did, my friend and I got both burgers and split them in half.
Holy crap, this was such a good burger! It is exactly what I’m looking for: so much flavor in the meat, char and saltiness but not too much; juice dripping all over the place. The bun was excellent, soft and not overwhelming. The toppings were there as an accent, not to save the burger. It was JUST SO GOOD!
The fries were almost perfect too. They were just the right amount of crispy with some softness in the middle, not over salted.
I didn’t want this meal to end!
The classic burger was so much better than the truffle burger. The truffle flavor was way too salty, I’m generally not a fan of over-the-top salting. The truffle fries were good though, the truffle flavor didn’t overwhelm them.
